Audition Requirements:
1) UNLV accepts live auditions and video auditions. 2) To be considered for a fall 2007 Graduate Teaching Assistantship auditions and applications must be submitted by March 1, 2007. 3) The GRE's are not required for graduate school. |
Audition Repertoire:
1) Diatonic Major and Minor Scales (Segovia Edition). 2) Basic sight-reading. 3) Basic arpeggios. 4) Three contrasting solo pieces from the concert repertoire, each piece should represent a different stylistic period. Audition repertoire should reflect the applicant’s artistic strengths and musical interests. |
| UNLV Graduate Teaching Assistantships | UNLV Class Guitar I: Teach class guitar to non-music majors. This course is a great introduction warm-up to a college teaching career. |
UNLV Applied Instruction: Teach applied guitar lessons to non-music majors and in some instances to undergraduate music majors at the college level. |

This is a resource and opportunity not regularly available to guitar programs. |
UNLV Performing Arts Center: Outside of the Allegro Series, the UNLV Performing Arts Center also books concertos and other large ensemble performances with guitar. |

| Las Vegas Guitar Festival | Summer Series: 1) Summer concert series 2) Summer master classes 3) Summer workshops 4) This intense week of study offers networking opportunities with students and teachers outside of UNLV, all are brought right to your doorstep. |
IGI Opportunities: 1) Teaching and performance opportunities in the Las Vegas Guitar Festival and possibly other IGI events (nominees selected by faculty). 2) Organize and administrate guitar events through the IGI by sitting on a student organization committee (at student's request). |
